The Capacity Building Program: Climate Action for Development in LAC was carried out!

The Capacity Building Program: Climate Action for Development in LAC of the PACD-LAC was carried out in two cycles: from May 2 to 6, 2022 (Cycle 1) and from May 9 to 13, 2022 (Cycle 2). The Program was aimed at decision-makers, negotiators and members of governmental institutions of the Member States of the Organization of American States (OAS), with competencies in the environmental and climate sector. It was developed and delivered by a multidisciplinary cluster of experts and international organizations committed to climate action.

The Program was offered in a blended learning format, as it presented a combination of five online modules and three webinars; making up a program distributed over five days at no cost to participants. The virtual modules were developed through a digital platform where participants could review the content and complete the activities at their own pace over a two-week period.

A total of 687 participants registered on the platform from its launch on April 30 through June 13. At the end of the program, 97 certificates of completion were awarded to Cycle 1 and Cycle 2 participants (64 women, 33 men) representing 23 OAS member states (Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, and Uruguay).

"I understand that the course has represented a great opportunity for updating and access to very valuable knowledge in this area that would be very difficult to access, if not for this instance" - Manuel.
